Each DKD property has its own leasing office and its own application process.  If you would like to rent an apartment at one of our communities, please contact the property directly by phone or email.  The property’s professional staff can answer your questions regarding availability, rent, income requirements or restrictions, Waiting Lists and how to apply. What is the cost to rent an apartment at a DKD property? Rents vary according to each property.  Please contact the property of interest to you for more information about the rents. How long will it take to find out if I have been approved for an apartment? Processing at our market-rate properties is typically completed within 3 days of receipt of your completed application and screening fee.  Several of our affordable communities have a long Waiting List or no availability, while others have smaller Waiting Lists that are always open to new applicants.  Please call or email the property directly for questions regarding the Waiting Lists. Do you allow pets? Each DKD property has a separate pet policy.  Please contact the property you are interested in by phone or email for information on the property’s pet policy.  Assistance animals are allowed at all DKD properties. Do I have to sign a lease? Flexible rental terms may be offered at our market rate properties, including month-to-month tenancy, a 6-month lease or a 12-month lease.  A 12-month lease is required at our affordable properties. Please contact the property directly to discuss your leasing needs. What happens if I need to break my lease? As a rule, any rent discount you received will be owed and you will be responsible for the rent on the apartment until the end of your lease term or until the apartment is re-rented, whichever comes first. Do the apartments have washer/dryer hook-ups / central heat and air / fireplaces / extra parking? The amenities vary for each apartment community.  Please contact the property of interest to you for information on what is available at that property. What utilities are included, if any? Water/sewer and trash removal are provided at no additional cost to the resident at all of our apartment communities.
